Haiku
summer dream
counting the butterflies
in home’s garden
winter twilight
homing mynahs
over my backstroke
new year’s eve
rangoli patterns
in home
autumn dawn –
mother serves white rice
on an almond leaf
childhood memory
holding mother’s finger
to teach touchpad
autumn twilight
my parents in silence
on the home swing
Tanka
the vacant plot
once the bamboo hut…
in the hamlet
father talks and talks
of his school home
hearing the horn
of my father, my dog
runs to the gate…
I and my sis run along
into friendship
holding tight
to the hand of my child…
on the iPad
my mother talks and talks
of returning roles
with my child
on my shoulder, i walk
in the long rain
carrying the heaviness
of shattered dreams
