I want to go to
the no word party
the teacher says
I have a lot less
to say before I am invited
noticing how I
get caught
in my own web
I marvel
at the spider’s feat
possessive of
phantom property
I grasp at illusions
afraid to let go and see
my insubstantiality
leaving the
meditation hall
people wobble as they walk
the ground beneath them
not as solid as before (published in Tanka Practice)
going back to work
today I feel alive
ready to see how
I will dance in this new space
hopefully with humility
